The use of diagnose and planning systems usingthe photographic technique marks without doubt a before and after in odontology and has given the importance necessary to the integration of the patient’s face in the process. The limitation of the technique resides in the difficulty to transform 2D planning results into 3D mainly because of face images which are not easy to adapt to 3D models. 3D planning provides a reliable aesthetic and functional result according to patients’ and physicians’ expectations.
